Questions about your purchase

The art is 5×7; the frame is 11×14, and 1.5 inches deep. We wanted a proportion that gave the work maximum presence in your space while still remaining an intimate up-close experience. We love them displayed in multiples. (Paul would often hang his work for shows as diptychs and triptychs, and loved what would start happening when the different pieces related to each other spatially.)

Each piece of art is a one-of-a-kind, original Paul Zelanski collage. He used a variety of materials including recycled papers, antique stamps, and pressed leaves. They are not prints or reproductions. Each collage was created between 1995 and 2005.

Each collage is specially priced on this website at $250. Fifty dollars of that covers taxes, framing, and shipping and handling. While $200 of your money is being donated, a generous corporate matching gift enables us to turn it into a $400 contribution.

All proceeds from the event will be directed to the University of Connecticut Foundation, Inc., to benefit The Paul Zelanski Award of Excellence Fund.

Our donations will be received by The University of Connecticut Foundation, Inc., a Connecticut non-profit that exists exclusively to benefit UConn by raising and administering private gifts and philanthropic grants to support the University’s pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and public service. All contributions are used to support the donor’s intentions and are assessed administrative fees that are used to support Foundation operating expenses as well as other priority needs determined by the School, College or unit receiving the gift.

For The Paul Zelanski Award for Excellence Fund to be established as a permanent endowment, a minimum of $25,000 must be committed by August 13, 2016. If the minimum is not met by that time, the fund will be fully expendable for the same purpose. In other words, the donations will be used for student scholarships but just not forever.

No, since we are not a 501-3C non profit. We hope that getting a piece of Paul’s art makes up for this. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation directly to the fund, please visit https://uconn.givecorps.com/causes/1784-the-paul-zelanski-award-of-excellence-fund. (The matching gift will not apply to these donations.)

Buying art online is a challenge, we understand. The images of each collage were taken by a professional, and every effort has been made to reproduce them as faithfully to the original as possible. That being said, computer monitors may differ. The collages were made as an investigation into light and color interaction in different locations at different times of day. That was one of Paul’s favorite parts of the process. We hope you enjoy it too.

Because of the nature of this website, we can only honor an exchange, no refunds. Please email noemi@how2design.com within 10 days of receiving your art to discuss the options.
